📌 Rosswag to install Eplus3D system under new metal AM partnership
Rosswag Engineering, the additive manufacturing division of German metal processing company Rosswag GmbH, has announced a new strategic partnership with Eplus3D, a manufacturer of industrial metal additive manufacturing systems, and qualloy, a supplier and marketplace for metal powders. The three companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly advance next-generation metal additive manufacturing systems and supply chains.

As part of the agreement, Rosswag Engineering will invest in an EP-M550 MPBF system from Eplus3D. This machine features a 550 × 550 × 450 mm build envelope and is equipped with eight lasers. The system will be installed at Rosswag’s new additive manufacturing facility, which is currently under construction, and will be available from June 2026 for customer-specific testing, validation, and application development.

This investment marks a significant step in Rosswag’s strategy to expand its industrial additive manufacturing capabilities toward larger and more complex components. The collaboration combines Eplus3D’s large-scale industrial metal PBF platforms, Rosswag’s expertise in metal processing, heat treatment, machining, testing, and qualification, and qualloy’s metal powders designed specifically for those systems.

Joint work will cover material qualification and parameter development, with qualloy acting as a supply chain facilitator and Rosswag contributing qualification and testing expertise according to industry standards for components produced on the LPBF platforms. Qualloy’s metal powder designed for the systems will be systematically qualified at the company’s Innovation Center in Korntal-Münchingen. Following qualification, those materials will be made available to users of the machine maker’s systems through its online shop with validated process parameters and powder specifications.

The companies stated that the aim is to validate industrial-grade process performance and develop user-ready applications and benchmarking capability within an integrated manufacturing ecosystem. Applications for the new system include energy machinery, pressure-bearing components, heat exchangers, and broader industrial use. These fields require reliable, validated manufacturing processes and benefit from the design freedom and scalability of large-format metal 3D printing.
